US President Donald Trump has said Ukraine must immediately stop striking Russian oil refineries, according to DWS News.
According to the US leader, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could have ended the conflict many times but chose not to.
Trump said Ukraine was continuing to strike Russian oil refineries despite warnings from Washington.
"We said, you can do whatever you want with Russia, don’t hit the refineries, because that's a world problem that's caused, and he wants to make problems for the world," Trump said.
He also stressed that the attacks were affecting the global diesel market and posing serious risks to farmers and livestock producers.
Earlier, Trump publicly addressed the Ukrainian people, calling on them to choose a new leader to replace Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Such political statements come amid discussions over international agreements concerning the energy sector and fuel supplies.
Russia plans to supply millions of tons of diesel fuel to global markets under temporary licenses issued by the US Treasury Department. The move has sparked heated debate among Western partners and Ukraine’s allies.
