Trump on Ukraine: 'We're reasonably close' to deal
US President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine and Russia are "reasonably close" to reaching a peace agreement. He noted that the United States is helping NATO and once again announced a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
US envoy Steve Witkoff to meet Putin on January 22
US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, said he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, January 22.
He emphasized that it was the Russians who requested this meeting and noted that this is a "significant statement on their part."
"Everyone wants to get to a peace deal," Witkoff said, adding that he will travel to Moscow together with Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
