Zelenskyy to visit Türkiye, Erdoğan's office announces
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Türkiye at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday, October 31, Burhanettin Duran, Director of Communications of the Turkish President’s Office, said, according to Hurriyet.
"Upon the invitation of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will pay a working visit to our country on October 31, 2026," he said.
During talks in Istanbul, the two sides are expected to discuss steps to deepen bilateral cooperation between Türkiye and Ukraine. They will also address regional and international issues, primarily Russia’s war against Ukraine and the security situation in the Black Sea.
Earlier, Erdoğan held a phone call with US President Donald Trump and said Ankara was ready to help resume diplomatic dialogue between Ukraine and Russia.
Türkiye also called on Kyiv and Moscow to stop attacks in the Black Sea. At the same time, Ankara announced for the first time that it intended to take "legal action" if vessels linked to Türkiye are targeted.
