Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Poland on Friday, December 19, to meet with President Karol Nawrocki, according to his comments to the media.

"I want to once again say that we are grateful to Poland for its support. This good neighborly relationship is very important to us. Regarding my visit to Poland, the Polish side suggested Friday," Zelenskyy said.

He noted that he would not postpone the trip.

"For us, maintaining strong relations with Poland is very important," the president emphasized.

Meeting between Zelenskyy and Nawrocki

On August 6, Karol Nawrocki took the oath and officially became the president of Poland, succeeding Andrzej Duda.

Earlier, on July 31, Zelenskyy held his first conversation with the elected Polish president. The leaders discussed key events expected in the coming months and agreed to exchange visits.

On September 25, Nawrocki announced plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.

The Polish president also said that he had already had the opportunity to speak with Zelenskyy during the UN General Assembly. According to him, it was a brief exchange of courtesies in which both leaders highlighted the challenges facing their countries.

Previously, the head of the international policy department in the Polish presidential office stated that if the Ukrainian president wishes to meet Nawrocki, he would need to travel to Warsaw.

It was recently reported that the Zelenskyy–Nawrocki meeting could take place before the end of the year, and preparations are already underway.
