Zelenskyy to travel to U.S at the end of September
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the annual meeting of world leaders at the United Nations in New York this month, according to Ferit Hoxha, the Albanian Ambassador to the UN, cited by The Guardian.
It is also expected that Zelenskyy will participate in a United Nations Security Council meeting regarding Ukraine. Albania currently presides over the Council, consisting of 15 members, in September. World leaders will begin gathering in New York on September 18 for the high-level General Assembly meeting.
The United Nations Security Council meeting on Ukraine is scheduled for September 20.
Zelenskyy's visit to New York
In late July, Bloomberg reported, citing a source, that Zelenskyy might travel to New York in September for the United Nations General Assembly, where he would advocate for his Peace Formula.
Ukrainian Peace Formula
In November of last year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Ukrainian Peace Formula, consisting of 10 points. This plan aims to restore control over Ukrainian territory, free detainees, and hold military criminals accountable.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Peace Formula takes into account crucial aspects of radiation, nuclear, food, and energy security, providing necessary guarantees.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine involved a broad range of partners in implementing the Formula.
