President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at a meeting with European leaders in Paris, will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, and in fact, security guarantees for Europe on its eastern border, stated Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

"The President of Ukraine will meet in Paris with Ursula von der Leyen, Mark Rutte, Friedrich Merz, and Keir Starmer to 'synchronize watches' during intensive discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine. Or rather security guarantees for Europe on its eastern border," Podolyak noted.

According to him, there are currently two parallel processes. The first is a situational attempt to stop the war, in which the United States and, personally, Donald Trump play the main role. The second is the construction of Europe’s post-war architecture.

"They know their weaknesses: Europeans have a shortage of weapons and cannot, without the US, impose effective sanctions on India and China. But the EU has taken on the task of military deterrence of Russia based on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian missile and drone technologies, and possibly with the participation of a European contingent," the presidential adviser added.

He also stressed that Ukraine is acting as an active moderator in these processes, with constant daily communication with partners for the sake of global and continental security.
