Zelenskyy thanks Macron for support after discussion on US trip

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. They discussed Macron's visit to the United States, Zelenskyy mentioned this during his evening address.
"I spoke with President Macron about his visit to America; we are coordinating our actions. Emmanuel, thank you for your support," Zelenskyy said.
The president did not disclose any further details of the conversation.
Meanwhile, Macron also mentioned his conversation with Zelenskyy on Twitter. In addition, he spoke with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"We are determined to work for a strong and lasting peace in Ukraine," Macron wrote.
Macron's visit to the US
On February 24, 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron made an official visit to Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump. The main topic of their talks was the war in Ukraine and the search for ways to achieve lasting peace.
Macron emphasized the need for a fair distribution of defense spending between Europe and the US and proposed the deployment of European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine after a peace agreement is reached between Kyiv and Moscow.
It is worth noting that Starmer is set to visit the United States soon to meet with Donald Trump. They are expected to discuss increasing NATO defense spending.
Starmer indicated that he intended to convey to Trump his desire to strengthen bilateral relations.
Macron and Starmer's initiative
Earlier, it was reported that France and the United Kingdom had prepared a plan for security guarantees for Ukraine. This plan may include the deployment of troops to Ukraine.
Macron specifically stated that France and the UK had developed a security guarantee plan for Ukraine.
