Zelenskyy holds call with Trump, discusses 'mega deal' on Ukrainian drones

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with US President Donald Trump. One of the topics was a deal involving Ukrainian drones, according to the Ukrainian head of state.
According to Zelenskyy, the conversation with Trump was productive. The key topic was ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine thanked his American counterpart for efforts toward a fair and lasting peace. He emphasized that it is necessary to stop the killings, and Ukraine fully supports this.
"Many months could have already passed without war if the Russians had not prolonged it," Zelenskyy noted.
According to him, he and Trump also discussed the intensifying brutality of Russian strikes on Ukraine. The American leader is fully informed about the nature of these attacks.
Another topic of discussion was sanctions against Russia. As Zelenskyy noted, the aggressor's economy continues to decline, and this is why Moscow pays such close attention to Trump's ultimatum, which could change a lot.
The leaders also discussed joint European decisions that could strengthen Ukraine's defense. This concerns funding for the purchase of American weapons for Ukrainian defenders.
"We also talked about our bilateral defense cooperation with America. The draft agreement on drones has already been prepared by the Ukrainian side; we are ready to discuss it in detail and sign it. It could be one of the strongest agreements," Zelenskyy emphasized.
