On the evening of October 26, Russian ballistic missiles struck the territory of a Kyiv university, Kyoto Park, the area near a metro station, and residential buildings. There are casualties and injuries, and people may be trapped under the rubble, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The missiles hit the territory of one of the universities and nearby areas, effectively striking the campus. Kyoto Park, the area near the metro station, and residential buildings were also hit.

The exact number of casualties is not yet known. Rescue operations are ongoing, and people may be trapped under the rubble.

"The missiles hit very crowded areas, and there is not a single military facility nearby. This was a strike directly on the city, on its infrastructure," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Russia began its ballistic attack on the capital around 10:00 pm on October 26, with explosions heard across the city. Shortly after, reports emerged of a strike near a metro station, as well as an attack on a medical brigade responding to a call.

In the Desnianskyi district, a missile struck near a university dormitory, resulting in casualties. Online reports indicate this is the State University of Trade and Economics.

According to the president, further strikes are possible. Russia also continues to attack Kyiv and other cities and communities with Shahed drones.

Zelenskyy stated that under the constant threat, artificial delays in air defense for Ukraine only facilitate terror. He urged partners to promptly implement political agreements and provide Ukraine with the means to destroy Russian ballistic missile launchers.

The president explained that this would be the most effective way to save lives.
