Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. In particular, they discussed the continuation of support.

“I thanked Germany for two and a half years of leadership. It is very important for us to have reliable friends who will be with us until a just and lasting peace is achieved,” Zelenskyy said.

He said that he had told Scholz about the situation on the front line and the current needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, in particular in armored vehicles and air defense systems.

“In addition, we discussed the continuation of funding for defense support for Ukraine and the use of frozen Russian assets, as well as cooperation and further contacts within the Ramstein framework,” the head of state added.

Zelenskyy also expressed condolences over the tragedy in Solingen, Germany, during the festival on August 23.

The police reported the deaths and injuries.
