Zelenskyy speaks with Canada's new Prime Minister

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with the new Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney. They discussed the ceasefire in Ukraine, according to Carney's X account.
“I spoke with Prime Minister (of the United Kingdom - ed.) Starmer, President (of Ukraine - ed.) Zelenskyy, and many of our closest allies this morning to discuss Ukraine's path to peace,” he wrote.
According to Carney, Canada supports the proposal for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine.
“Now, Russia must stop stalling and launching its attacks. It’s time for Russia to come to the table in good faith,” the Canadian Prime Minister continued.
In accordance with the G7 agreement, Canada will strengthen control over compliance with sanctions against Russia to encourage their implementation.
“Canada is Ukraine’s steadfast ally. We will make sure Ukraine has the military support it needs to defend itself — now and into the future,” the prime minister summarized.
Ceasefire in Ukraine
During a meeting in Saudi Arabia on March 11, the United States and Ukraine agreed to a 30-day truce.
The Kremlin initially studied the statements made by the American and Ukrainian sides during the negotiations. Later, President Vladimir Putin allegedly agreed to the ceasefire, but pointed to “nuances.”
So far, the Kremlin has not given the go-ahead for a ceasefire, but it has not refused either. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Putin wants to reject the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine. To do so, he is making impossible demands.
