Conscription demobilization in Ukraine

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, a decision was made that conscripts would remain in military service during martial law. They could only be demobilized under certain circumstances.

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced a bill to the Ukrainian Parliament on the demobilization of conscripts. Today, the Parliament's Committee on National Security supported the document.

The document establishes that conscripts are discharged into the reserve according to the terms specified by the president's decree.

On Friday, the Ukrainian Parliament supported as a basis and in its entirety the bill No. 11035 on the demobilization of conscripted military personnel.

In its final form, the bill includes a provision regarding the terms during which conscripts cannot be called up. Military personnel cannot be called up for military service during mobilization for 12 months from the date of discharge into the reserve.
