Zelenskyy shares new details about meeting with Trump in Paris
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the issue of freezing a full-scale war in Ukraine with his American counterpart Donald Trump during a meeting in Paris.
“When we talk about a frozen conflict, if it is between us, we talked about it (during the meeting with Trump - ed.). I said that we want the war to end more than anyone else in the world. And of course, a diplomatic end to the war will bring more lives to be saved, and we want that,” he said.
According to him, during his conversation with Trump, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron, he emphasized that in the issue of ending the war, they will see that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not want it.
Trump and Zelenskyy met in Paris
On December 7, Paris hosted the grand opening of Notre Dame Cathedral after a fire in 2019. Zelenskyy and Trump arrived in France for this event. Later, a trilateral meeting between the presidents of Ukraine, France, and the United States took place at the Elysee Palace.
As Zelenskyy noted, the meeting was good and productive, and peace through strength is possible. He also said that during the talks with Trump, they raised the issue of support for Ukraine.
