The operations conducted by the Ukrainian military in Russia are helping to change the US rhetoric as Washington claims that Ukraine has no cards to win the war, says President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a briefing.

“Conducting operations helps us to change the US rhetoric that Ukrainians are losing this war, that we have no tools, no cards, etc. Now it sounds a little quieter. I say this very carefully because our team is now in the United States. Indeed, the mood has changed in political circles,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, today there will be a big briefing for the Senate from the Ukrainian team.

“There will be the whole picture for the Senate from sanctions to stolen children, from the situation on the battlefield to the special operation. And we hope that the Senate will confirm its intentions and move to impose sanctions. Because, in addition to the fact that all sanctions were imposed because of Russia's aggression... the American side said that if the parties do not agree to a ceasefire, there will be sanctions,” the president said.

Ukraine is demonstrating that it is ready for a ceasefire, while the Russians “are demonstrating out loud that they are not ready,” Zelenskyy adds.

“So we are asking for sanctions,” he emphasized.

Operation Spiderweb

On June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted Operation Spiderweb, which had been planned for over a year and a half. SBU drones attacked several Russian air bases at once. The drones hit four military bases: Belaya, Dyagilevo, Olenya, and Ivanovo.

According to SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk, the drone strikes hit 41 Russian strategic aviation aircraft, including A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22 M3, and Tu-160.

In total, 34% of strategic cruise missile carriers at the main airfields of Russia were hit. The estimated cost of the strategic aviation is $7 billion.
