President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that any meeting he has with US President Donald Trump should be carefully prepared. This is necessary for a good result, he says at a briefing.

When RBC-Ukraine asked about a possible future visit to US President Donald Trump, Zelenskyy said he had not heard of the invitation.

“I have not heard about the invitation. I think that any meeting we have with the President of America should end in a positive result for both sides,” Zelenskyy said.

In his opinion, this is the approach that should be taken to any of their meetings.

“Today, the reaction of our societies is vital. I would really like us to have a result, a positive result. People have been fighting for a long time and deserve to have light. I want any of our meetings with the US president to be positive, and everyone needs to prepare,” he emphasized.

Trump-Zelenskyy disagreement

On February 28, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid a visit to the United States. During the meeting, a dispute arose between the Ukrainian leader, Donald Trump, and Vice President JD Vance.

Subsequently, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Zelenskyy of “undermining efforts” to hold peace talks.

The dispute led to a decay in relations between Ukraine and the United States. Trump decided to suspend military aid to Ukrainian forces. The exchange of intelligence between the two countries also stopped.

At the same time, US officials said that Zelenskyy should apologize to Trump. Against this backdrop, he tweeted that Ukraine was ready to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible.
