Ukraine and Russia must begin real negotiations to end the war. Even Russians are dissatisfied that the fighting continues, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"A majority in Russia is already questioning Putin, pointing out that his war shows no end in sight. All the current difficulties for Russians should bring them closer to the idea that this is their war, it is not just 'stones falling from the sky,' and that their war must end," the President emphasized.

He noted that Ukraine has already put forward all necessary proposals to start real negotiations with Russia.

By the way, talks between Ukraine and Russia were suspended this year. Moscow refused to continue the dialogue, and Putin does not want to meet with Zelenskyy.

What is being said in Russia about negotiations

Just today, Russian officials made a series of statements about peace talks with Ukraine.

In particular, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov suddenly claimed that his country is allegedly ready to resume negotiations with Ukraine from the point where they were previously halted.

At the same time, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov stated that "there is no one else there to talk to at the moment," except Zelenskyy.

Meanwhile, Russian leader Vladimir Putin first said that there were no conditions for negotiations with Ukraine. However, a few hours later, he claimed that Russia is ready to hold talks based on the agreements reached in Istanbul.
