Russian forces are attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Such actions will not go unanswered, according to Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office.

"Russian forces are shelling our energy infrastructure, creating threats not only for Ukraine but also for Europe’s security. Such actions will not go unanswered. Ukraine has responded and will continue to respond," Yermak emphasized.

According to him, countries with influence over the reckless regime of Russian leader Vladimir Putin must do everything possible to force Russia to end the war and use all available tools to achieve this.

Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector

Earlier today, October 1, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine’s energy facilities.

As a result, 307,000 consumers in several districts of the Chernihiv region were left without power, and scheduled blackouts were introduced in the region.

In addition, due to a Russian strike on an energy facility in Slavutych, Kyiv region, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is in a state of blackout. Specialists are already working to restore the power supply.

Meanwhile, in the Sumy region, the Konotop and Shostka districts were partially left without electricity after Russian attacks.
