Modi's visit to Ukraine

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Kyiv today, August 23. This happened a month and a half after the head of the Indian government traveled to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Modi's visit to the Russian capital took place on the day when the Russian forces launched a missile attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv, where more than 600 patients were staying.

Afterward, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized Modi's visit, saying it was a “devastating blow to peace efforts.”

By the way, the Indian Prime Minister visited Ukraine for the first time since its independence.

As Bloomberg wrote, Modi does not want India to mediate to end the war in Ukraine but is ready to convey messages between Zelenskyy and Putin.
