Ukraine and the United States, during negotiations in Riyadh, agreed on a ceasefire regarding energy facilities and in the Black Sea during a truce with Russia, states Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Pavlo Palisa.

According to him, during the meeting in Riyadh, the delegations continued technical consultations on the ceasefire that the Ukrainian delegation had agreed upon with the US side in Jeddah.

“We agreed on a ceasefire regarding energy facilities and in the Black Sea, which will come into effect from the moment of the joint statement with the US being published. We warned the US team that the Russians would drag their feet and impose additional conditions,” Palisa wrote.

He stated that this is further proof that Ukrainians are seeking a real and just peace. He also emphasized that Ukraine is interested in a balanced ceasefire, with an immediate response in case of violations of the agreement.

“And as for the red lines: no discussions about territorial concessions. This is all Ukrainian land, which we are fighting for and will continue to fight for under any conditions,” the advisor stressed.

He noted that Ukraine continues working on effective mechanisms to monitor the ceasefire and secure reliable security guarantees, as there is no trust in the hostile side.

Negotiation process on ending the war

This month, the US held a series of meetings with delegations from Ukraine and Russia. The negotiations focused on a 30-day ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow. Following the latest meetings, Ukraine and the US have already published joint statements on the agreements reached in Saudi Arabia.

Russia also released a final statement after the meeting with US officials in Saudi Arabia. It specifically mentioned the conditions for a truce with Ukraine at sea.

At the same time, today Russia has already accused Ukraine of violating the truce, claiming that energy facilities in two regions were attacked. However, the General Staff denied the Russian claims, stating that the Russian Ministry of Defense is spreading false and unfounded accusations to drag out the war.
