Zelenskyy: Russia is not able to fight on land under certain condition

If there is no war in the skies, Russia will not be able to continue fighting on the ground, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, according to his address at the UN Security Council.
In his speech, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cited an example of how the war could be stopped by force, pointing to the need to strengthen defenses against Russian attacks. He said that if Ukraine’s airspace could be reinforced through a joint system to counter Russian missiles and drones, Moscow would be forced to end its aerial strikes because everything could be intercepted.
Zelenskyy stressed that in such a scenario, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin would have no choice but to sit at the UN Security Council or another platform and seek a truce on the ground. He added that without a war in the skies, Russia would not be able to continue fighting on land, noting that he had raised this issue with President Trump and other leaders.
Strengthening air defenses
On September 22, Zelenskyy held talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The Ukrainian leader said Kyiv had conveyed to its partners the urgent need for air defense systems and packages, which could significantly affect the course of events and limit Russia’s ability to wage war. They also discussed the implementation of the PURL program, particularly in the field of air defense.
On September 23, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi spoke with US Army Europe and Africa commander General Christopher Donahue. Syrskyi briefed him on the frontline situation and stressed Ukraine’s need for more air defense and electronic warfare systems, as well as long-range missiles.
