If speaking with Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would raise the issue of territories and the causes of the war, he says in an interview with Fox News.

Responding to a question about what he would discuss with Putin, Zelenskyy emphasizes that he had already raised this issue in a conversation with US President Donald Trump.

"I think this is important. That's why I said this to President Trump. I think that the question of territories, the question of reasons for this war, why he is occupying us," the head of state notes.

The President stresses that he has no desire to communicate with Putin, as he considers him an enemy, but he allows for such a conversation for security reasons.

"I think it would be useful to speak, not because I want to. I don't want to speak with him. He is an enemy for me. But I think it's important to speak only for one thing. We have to understand, we don't want a third war from Russia," Zelenskyy says.

At the same time, the President emphasizes the complete lack of trust between the parties.

"I don't trust him, and I will not. And he also doesn't trust me, it's understandable. But this is the problem," he adds.

In addition, Zelenskyy says he was convinced that Putin's real goal was the complete occupation of Ukraine.

"My feeling that his goal was the occupation of all our territory, all our country. And I really want to hear and see that he will not come again," the President concludes.

About conversation between Zelenskyy and Putin

Recently, Fox News, citing sources, wrote that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may hold a conversation with Vladimir Putin for the first time in five years.

However, yesterday, December 29, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denied the information, noting that a conversation between Putin and Zelenskyy was not currently on the agenda.

According to a source in the Ukrainian leader's team, as reported by RBC-Ukraine, a conversation between Zelenskyy and Putin is not currently being discussed, but Ukraine is always ready for it.
