The President of Ukraine held talks with the Egyptian leader and announced the agreements reached in his post on X.

Grain agreement

During the conversation, the President of Egypt said that his country will no longer accept grain exported by Russia from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. At the same time, Cairo is interested in increasing imports of Ukrainian grain.

"I am grateful for this decision," Zelenskyy said.

Peace and cooperation

The parties discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, as well as its impact on the global oil market. The Egyptian President confirmed his readiness to make efforts to achieve a "dignified peace."

The leaders agreed that their foreign ministers will continue contacts.

Military-technical cooperation

Zelenskyy informed his Egyptian counterpart about meetings and agreements with Gulf countries.

He stressed that Ukraine has significant potential for military-technical cooperation and is ready to work in this direction with Egypt as well. The leaders also discussed other areas for developing bilateral cooperation.

Russia has been systematically exporting grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and selling it on international markets. Ukraine has been consistently fighting this practice.

In 2025, Ukraine detained a Russian vessel in the Black Sea that was transporting wheat from occupied Crimea under a foreign flag.

At the same time, Ukraine warned importing countries of tough measures if they purchase stolen grain and called on the EU to impose sanctions on Bangladesh, which continued to buy such products.
