Currently, 26% of Ukraine's territory is under Russian occupation, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"After two years, it is important that we have managed to defend our country. About 26% of the national territory is still under occupation, but we see that the Russian army cannot make much progress. We have stopped them," he says.

The President adds that Ukraine united world leaders, so Ukrainians are not alone.

"Today, the country knows what war is, unfortunately, many families have lost loved ones, there are wounded and many at the front, but we are not alone, we managed to unite world leaders," he says.

Zelenskyy says that the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine were very different.

"The first days of the war were very different, people were very scared. At first, there was great chaos, an unexpected invasion, and attacks on cities at night. People were shocked. Now everything is different, we have started defending our land and families. We had no alternative," he says.

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops repelled 44 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka direction. They held their positions and repelled the Russian occupation forces' assaults in the Kherson direction. Ukrainian Defense Forces struck five areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.

According to the Institute of War Studies, Russian troops have moved five to seven kilometers closer to Chasiv Yar over an unspecified period, recently advancing along the line east of Avdiivka. They have also recently made some progress northwest of Maryinka.
