Recently, there has been growing dissatisfaction in the White House with the progress of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. The President of Ukraine responded to the Trump administration's loss of patience at a press conference with the President of South Africa.

"This is not how it works. If Russia says that it is ready for a ceasefire, they need to stop massive strikes on Ukraine," he said.

The President also spoke about the dissatisfaction of the administration of US President Donald Trump with the course of the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia

"Therefore, patience, I don't know who has something going on inside, but Ukrainians will not have patience. Because we are under attack, no one else," Zelenskyy stated.

US dissatisfaction with negotiation process

In recent months, the United States has been actively involved in the negotiation process to resolve Russia's war against Ukraine.

In particular, on April 23, an important meeting of representatives of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and Germany was to take place in London to discuss ways to resolve the war. The key issue was supposed to be a complete ceasefire.

However, the meeting was held at a lower level, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine does not recognize any seized territories as part of Russia.

This statement was Ukraine's response to the US peace initiative, which included freezing the frontline, Ukraine's refusal to join NATO, and the recognition of Crimea as Russian.

The clause recognizing Crimea as Russian was also condemned by the EU. They also did not agree to lift sanctions until the negotiations were completed.
