Zelenskyy reports when first North Korean military will be at combat zones
Russia will deploy the first military personnel of North Korea to the combat zone on October 27-28. This is an obvious escalation step on the part of the occupying country, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Situation at frontline
According to the President of Ukraine, today, October 25, he listened to a report by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi. Particular attention was paid to Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Lyman directions.
The situation in the Donetsk region remains difficult, but Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold their positions and do everything possible to destroy Russian troops.
Kursk region
Special attention was paid to the Kursk region. All tasks are currently being implemented.
In particular, the buffer zone on Russian territory protects Ukraine from Russian attempts to expand the war in the east of Ukraine.
North Korean troops involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine
“He also reported (Syrskyi - ed.) on Russia's involvement of military personnel from North Korea. According to Ukrainian intelligence, on October 27-28, the first North Korean military will be used by Russia in combat zones. This is an obvious escalation step by Russia that matters, unlike all the disinformation that has been heard a lot in Kazan these days,” the President says.
Zelenskyy adds that the world must see that Russia wants the war to continue, and therefore the reaction of international partners must be strong and principled.
“The actual involvement of North Korea in hostilities should be responded to not with closed eyes and confused comments, but with tangible pressure on both Moscow and Pyongyang to comply with the UN Charter and punish escalation,” Zelenskyy says.
Sending DPRK troops to war against Ukraine
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported that North Korea has deployed about 12,000 of its military to Russia. Some of these forces, according to the DIU, are already in the area of hostilities in the Kursk region.
Meanwhile, the Financial Times notes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is relying on the North Korean military to regain control of the territories in the Kursk region currently held by Ukrainian soldiers.
