President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed the allocation of additional funds for the purchase of drones. They will be directly provided to military brigades, said Zelenskyy during his evening address.

He mentioned receiving a report from the Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on the current situation at the front, including discussions on the operation in Russia's Kursk region.

There was also a separate report by Colonel Pavlo Palisa, who was recently appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.

"There was also a separate report by Pavlo Palisa regarding the amounts of direct funding provided directly to the brigades for additional drone procurement. A decision on the amount of such direct funding was recently made. However, I now see that this amount is also insufficient," Zelenskyy said.

Weapons production in Ukraine

In recent years, Ukraine has significantly expanded its weapons production capabilities, a critical factor in supporting its Armed Forces during the war with Russia.

The country’s defense industry has grown rapidly through collaborations with international partners, enabling increased production and supply of military equipment, including drones.

These efforts ensure that Ukrainian forces are equipped with modern combat tools while maintaining economic stability under challenging wartime conditions.

In August, Zelenskyy announced Ukraine's first use of a new missile drone Palianytsia, a product of domestic engineers.

Ukraine is also developing long-range drones, capable of striking Russian military targets up to 1,800 km away, according to Defense Intelligence Chief Kyrylo Budanov.
