Zelenskyy on US elections: They will significantly affect Ukraine's hopes for peace
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the US presidential election will have a significant impact on our country's hopes for peace.
Turning to the topic of former US President Donald Trump, Zelenskyy noted that the US presidential election in November will have an impact on Ukraine's hopes for peace.
According to him, Ukrainian officials have already contacted the campaigns of Trump and US Vice President Kamala Harris this month.
Zelenskyy also said that during a phone conversation with Trump, he invited the former US president to visit Ukraine.
“If Mr. Trump wants to know something about Ukraine, he can come and see for himself or ask me,” he said in the interview.
Zelenskyy also said that Trump is available for any questions.
“We have been in contact with his team. Mr Trump told me he was available for any questions, and that I have his phone number,” the Ukrainian leader added.
According to TIME magazine, Donald Trump, if re-elected to the presidency, may cut military aid to Ukraine and push Kyiv to a peace deal in Russia's interests.
