Zelenskyy on Ukraine's intelligence special operation: It's too early to talk about liberation of Crimea President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy (Vitalii Nosach, RBC-Ukraine)

Ukrainian Defense Intelligence conducted a special operation in Crimea. However, it's too early to talk about the liberation of the peninsula, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says during a press conference with the leader of Portugal.

Zelenskyy commented on the special operation of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense and the Ukrainian Navy, during which the Ukrainian flag was raised in Crimea.

"It's too early to talk about the liberation of Crimea. That's the first thing. The second thing is I will have a detailed report from General Budanov. Thirdly, yes, these are our guys. Fourthly, there are no casualties on our side. That's good news. At least, that's what I could discuss with the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense over the phone," the president said.

Background

On Ukraine's Independence Day, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, with the support of the Navy, conducted a special operation in Crimea. Intelligence officers reached the Tarkhankut Cape by watercraft and landed on the shore. Special units raised the Ukrainian flag near the settlements of Olenivka and Mayak.

Afterward, the operatives left the occupied peninsula without any casualties.

Representatives of Ukraine's intelligence told RBC-Ukraine that today's outing had a raid-like character. It demonstrated that Crimea is within the reach of Ukraine's soldiers for conducting operations.
