'It's important for him to want it himself,' Zelenskyy on Trump's potential visit to Ukraine

US President Donald Trump is always welcomed to visit Ukraine, but he must express the desire to do so himself, according to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy's statement during a Zoom briefing for journalists.
One of the media representatives asked the head of state whether he had invited US President Donald Trump to visit Ukraine to witness the horrors of the war firsthand.
In response, Zelenskyy emphasized that it was important for him that Trump, during his electoral campaign, visited Ukraine with his team. This would allow him to see the reality of the country and understand what was happening. Zelensky wanted the then-presidential candidate to meet with both military personnel and civilians and draw his own conclusions.
Regarding the visit at present, the Ukrainian president stated that he is always ready to invite the US leader to visit Ukraine.
"These are the right steps, so we are open, and I will always invite him to Ukraine if the opportunity arises. But for me, it's important that he can do so and that he wants it," the president said.
