US President Donald Trump invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to his inauguration, which took place on January 20, the President of Ukraine shares this in an interview with Piers Morgan.

"President Trump invited me to his inauguration, but in very general terms," Zelenskyy said.

However, in his opinion, a visit to the US specifically for Trump's inauguration would have been inappropriate.

"I think we need time to sit down and talk about the war. And at that moment, during the inauguration, I believe he had his own matters on the agenda. And I think it would not have been very appropriate for me to come. He wouldn't have had time for a personal meeting," Zelenskyy added.

Zelenskyy on peace

Recently, Zelenskyy stated that if Trump wants to make Russian President Vladimir Putin come to the negotiating table, he can succeed. At the same time, Zelenskyy said that Kyiv and Washington should continue negotiations to develop a ceasefire plan.

Today, Zelenskyy shared that his team is already in contact with US President Donald Trump's team. In particular, there have been talks with the Special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg.
