Zelenskyy on Russian attack on Sumy: 'Only scum can act like this'

Russia launched a missile strike on Sumy on Palm Sunday, hitting a residential street. Zelenskyy called on the world to respond harshly to the terror.
On Sunday, April 13, Russian troops carried out a powerful missile strike on residential areas of the city of Sumy.
The strike hit a city street near residential buildings, educational institutions, and cars. According to data, there are dozens of dead and wounded among the civilian population.
This attack occurred on Palm Sunday — a day when Ukrainians traditionally go to churches. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the strike a horrific act of terror and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
“Only scum can act like this. Taking the lives of ordinary people,” the head of state stated.
A rescue operation continues in Sumy, and all the relevant services are working.
The president called on the world for an immediate and harsh reaction to Russia’s actions. According to him, it is impossible to achieve peace without pressure on the aggressor.
“Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and air bombs. Russia deserves the kind of attitude that a terrorist does,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
Missile strike on Sumy
Today, April 13, a few hours earlier in Ukraine, an alert was declared due to the threat of ballistic missiles. Russian militants launched the missiles from Kursk.
Later, it became known that the invaders struck the city center, leaving many dead and wounded. As of now, it is known that more than 20 people have died in Sumy.
