Deadly missile strike on Sumy: High civilian death toll

The Russian army attacked the center of Sumy on Palm Sunday. More than 40 people have been reported dead and wounded, according to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko.
“Russia hit the city center with ballistic missiles. Right when there were many people on the street. Deliberate destruction of civilians on a major church holiday,” he said.
21 dead and 20 wounded reported
According to Klymenko, rescuers and police arrived at the scene of the attack within minutes.
“There are many victims. According to preliminary data, 21 people have been killed and at least 20 more wounded as of this moment,” the Interior Minister said.

According to him, people were injured right in the middle of the street, in cars, public transport, and in houses. Police restricted access to the affected area.

According to the investigation, on April 13, at about 10:15 AM (Kyiv time), the military launched two missile strikes on the center of Sumy.
“As of 12:00, it is known that the enemy attack killed 21 people, 34 were injured, including 5 children,” the Prosecutor General's Office said.
