Russian leader Vladimir Putin is reportedly planning to visit Pokrovsk. It is obvious to everyone what this will lead to, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing.

"Putin says he will go to Pokrovsk. Well, let him come. Everyone will applaud. We understand how it will end," said the Ukrainian President.

Russian propaganda about Pokrovsk

A few days ago, Russian generals told Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin that Russian forces had allegedly surrounded Ukrainian troops in Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, and Myrnohrad.

Putin suggested creating a corridor in Pokrovsk and Kupiansk for foreign journalists, including Ukrainian ones, so they could cover the supposed encirclement of Ukrainian soldiers.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced its readiness to pause combat operations for a few hours to allow journalists into the mentioned cities.

Yesterday, October 30, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized that there is no encirclement of Ukrainian defenders and that the Russian statements are yet another fake.

At the same time, today, October 31, President Zelenskyy confirmed that the situation in Pokrovsk is difficult, but Ukrainian troops are not surrounded.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged journalists not to trust Putin's idea of a corridor to Pokrovsk and Kupiansk, noting that the Kremlin leader repeatedly breaks his promises.

Previously, Zelenskyy said that the Russian army had concentrated its main forces near Pokrovsk. The enemy has been trying to take control of the city for over a year, but has not succeeded.
