Zelenskyy: New government to strengthen Ukraine and secure more agreements with US

The government reshuffle should strengthen Ukraine and open a new stage of cooperation with the US, says President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after taking part in the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.
The president noted that after the re-election, the renewed Ukrainian government should conduct an audit of
- all agreements,
- contracts,
- memoranda with partners in the field of defense, defense production,
- and all sustainability programs to fulfill the agreements one hundred percent in the interests of Ukraine.
"There will also be new agreements with the United States, which will strengthen Ukraine's position and for which we need changes in diplomatic work with America," Zelenskyy emphasizes.
According to him, the state must guarantee Ukrainian soldiers' confidence in the security of the Defense Forces. And, as he explained, for this purpose, Ukraine's internal economic potential will be increased, in particular.
"And this is impossible without three things," the Ukrainian President emphasizes.
According to Zelenskyy, these are:
First, maximum deregulation, elimination of any bureaucratic obstacles, and unnecessary state institutions whose functions are simply duplicated.
Second, the maximum liberation of Ukraine's social forces and the involvement of partners' potential for economic growth in Ukraine.
Third, justice, that is, in many ways, different, stronger approaches to punishing those who encroach on Ukrainian statehood and steal Ukrainian potential.
"The renewal of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ukrainian government system in general will ensure the implementation of these tasks. Ukraine will gain more of its strength," he concluded.
Reshuffle in Cabinet
Yesterday, July 16, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and his government.
This marked the end of Shmyhal's five-year term as head of government.
Today, July 17, Yulia Svyrydenko was appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine.
Earlier this week, the President of Ukraine offered her the position of Prime Minister and instructed her to begin forming a team.
Svyrydenko became the first woman to hold this position in more than 15 years and the second in the history of independent Ukraine. The first female prime minister was Yulia Tymoshenko, who headed the government twice.
