Zelenskyy names the only country whose sanctions can hit Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an interview with ABC News, said that the US must play a key role in pressuring Russia. Only their sanctions can have a real impact.
"We support the proposals coming from the US about stopping the war, about ending the war, about any formats that can bring us closer. About meetings in any format, whether at the technical level, at the level of leaders, anywhere — we are doing all of this. There is no need to look for a balance between us and the Russians. The Russians do not want this. Sometimes there is no alternative," the Ukrainian president emphasized.
He noted that currently, only the Russians do not want to end the war in Ukraine.
"Here, only the Russians do not want to end the war. It does not matter who wants to impose sanctions on the Russians. They will not work. Here, America must impose sanctions. There is no alternative. Not on the first issue, not on the second," Zelenskyy added.
US considers sanctions against Russia
US President Donald Trump responded to the conditions under which he would impose new sanctions against Russia.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the Trump administration is not satisfied with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham's bill in its current form.
Specifically, they fear that sanctions this harsh could hinder the president's goal of restoring relations with Russia.
The bill Graham announced aims to impose tough sanctions on Russia. Recently, the senator introduced the bill to Congress.
It was reported that Graham suggested allowing the US leader to decide whom to sanction.
