Zelenskyy names key points of victory plan to show Biden
This month, US President Joe Biden will be presented with a plan for Ukraine's victory. It includes four main points and one more that will be needed after the war, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian president confirmed that he would talk to Biden about how to strengthen Ukraine's position before the second peace summit. Otherwise, Russian leader Vladimir Putin will not attend.
“Yes, I will speak with him [on] how to strengthen us before peace summit to be in a strong position, because diplomatic decisions or solutions are good when you are strong, otherwise Putin will not even take part in it. I think otherwise they will be not interested in... how they can stop the war,” Zelenskyy said.
The president emphasized that he has a winning plan, and for Ukraine, victory means “being very strong” and “ready for strong diplomacy.”
Zelenskyy clarified that the plan consists of four main points and a “plus” one that Ukraine will need after the war. In particular, it is about security, as well as military and economic support.
“I will share (the points of the plan - ed.) with Biden. It's about security. It's about geopolitical place for Ukraine. It's about very strong military support available for us, and that we have to be free to use one or another item. It's about economic support decisions, which will be, I think, interesting,” the Head of State said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that if Joe Biden appreciates and supports Ukraine's plan, and if he and his team can add something that will give our country a stronger position, the Ukrainian side will be ready for it.
A few days earlier, the President of Ukraine said that every point of the victory plan would depend on Biden's decision. At the same time, he emphasized that he could not guarantee that this would stop Putin.
“There aren’t many items. And each item will depend on Biden’s decision. That’s why I believe it will help. I can’t give a 100% guarantee that it will stop Putin, but it will make Ukraine stronger. And it will push Putin to think about how to end the war,” he said.
