Zelenskyy met with Pope, gifted him painting of Bucha massacre
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Pope Francis at the Vatican, presenting the pontiff with a painting depicting the Bucha massacre, citing Ansa.
The meeting between Zelenskyy and Pope Francis lasted around 35 minutes in the library hall, followed by the introduction of the Ukrainian delegation.
The pontiff gifted Zelenskyy a cast bronze relief of a blossoming flower inscribed with the words, "Peace is a fragile flower." In return, Zelenskyy presented the Pope with an oil painting titled "The Bucha Massacre: Marichka's Story."

This marks the third meeting between Zelenskyy and Pope Francis since the start of the full-scale war. Before this, the Ukrainian president visited the Vatican in May 2023. Zelenskyy and the pontiff also met during the G7 summit in Apulia, Italy.
Zelenskyy’s foreign visit
This week, President Zelenskyy embarked on a working visit to Europe. He visited Croatia, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy.
During his trip, Zelenskyy presented European leaders with Ukraine’s victory plan. He also met with NATO’s new Secretary General, Mark Rutte, to discuss lifting restrictions on the use of long-range weaponry for strikes against Russia.
