Zelenskyy meets with UK Defense Chief, discusses air defense strengthening
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy today, March 7, met with the UK Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps, according to the President of Ukraine's Facebook page.
According to him, they discussed the continuation of defense cooperation between our countries.
"Our primary focus was on bolstering Ukraine's air defense and long-range capabilities, as well as meeting other urgent needs for weapons and ammunition and developing joint weapon production," the president wrote.
Zelenskyy thanked the government and the people of Britain for their leadership support of Ukraine and our people.
Assistance from Britain
In January, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the largest aid package to Ukraine since the start of the war.
Recently, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said that the economy of the Russian Federation is 25 times weaker than that of Ukraine and its allies. It is necessary to make this difference more noticeable.
Also, on February 23, Britain announced a $310 million package of ammunition for Ukraine.
