President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the military. Key topics included the situation at the front, the creation of reserves, and work with partners on security guarantees, according to Zelenkyy’s Telegram channel.

“We discussed in detail the key needs of each sector and unit. It is very important that it is our units who define the situation in the border areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions,” Zelenskyy said.

According to the Ukrainian President, the meeting also paid proper attention to the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, discussing the need for additional supplies specifically for these directions.

"There was also a report on work with all partners within the Coalition of the Willing: Europe, the United States, and other partners. Relevant meetings and working contacts will take place throughout the week. We noted that the pace of work must be accelerated," the President of Ukraine added.

According to Zelenskyy, the defense component of the security guarantees must be detailed in the near future.

Frontline situation

The Pokrovsk direction has recently remained the hottest section of the front. According to the General Staff’s morning update as of August 26, it was here that the largest number of combat clashes took place during the past day.

Earlier, Ukrainian border guards also repelled an enemy offensive in the Pokrovsk direction and captured a group of enemy soldiers. A video appeared online.

On August 24, Ukrainian defenders carried out successful counterattacks in the Donetsk region and liberated three settlements from Russian occupation.
