Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been invited to the NATO summit on June 24 in The Hague. US President Donald Trump is also expected to attend, informs WNL.

Brekelmans confirmed that President Trump will attend the NATO summit in The Hague. He added that President Zelenskyy will be present on behalf of Ukraine.

He said that NATO is considering where Zelenskyy can have a good place in the program.

However, Brekelmans said it is still unclear whether Trump and Zelenskyy will meet in The Hague.

The Hague summit

Earlier in May, Der Spiegel reported that Trump might skip the NATO summit. RBC-Ukraine covered what could be the reason behind that.

However, just days ago, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said President Trump had confirmed he plans to attend the NATO summit in June in The Hague.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that member states of the Alliance intend to discuss military aid for Ukraine during the summit.

Their goal is to make sure Kyiv is in the strongest position possible to continue its fight against Russia. They also want any peace deal after the fighting ends to be durable.
