On July 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against anti-Ukrainian propaganda.

Today, on July 20, the Ukrainian President imposed sanctions against three Ukrainians and two Russians for participating in information campaigns aimed at undermining Ukraine's defense capabilities, promoting anti-Ukrainian narratives, and legitimizing the armed Russian aggression.

Sanctions Commissioner Vlad Vlasiuk said that sanctions were imposed on bloggers who justify Russia and its actions, as well as impede the protection of Ukraine and its people, thus threatening Ukraine's national interests.

At the same time, sanctions were imposed on Russian military commanders and administrators of propaganda Telegram channels who spread messages of support for the Russian occupation forces, glorify the members of the so-called special military operation, and justify Russia's war crimes.

In particular, the list includes:

  • Russian blogger Yulia Latynina,
  • Ukrainian blogger Andrii Serebrianskyi (Andrii Luhanskyi),
  • businessman Hennadii Balashov,
  • former MP Natalia Korolevska,
  • Z-voenkor Tatiana Aksenenko.

He also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States of America, and other countries about the sanctions and to raise the issue of introducing similar restrictive measures.

Sanctions against Russia

Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, Ukraine's partners have been supporting Kyiv and imposing sanctions against Russia.

The restrictions include, in particular:

  • high-tech exports,
  • banking sector,
  • arms trade.

Currently, the restrictions already apply to hundreds of officials, businessmen, and propagandists.

Earlier, Zelenskyy issued a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to synchronize sanctions pressure on Russia with international partners.
