Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a "long conversation" with the head of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, to discuss various scenarios, according to Zelenskyy's Telegram channel.

"I had a long conversation with Budanov today about our tasks, prospects, and different scenarios. It is important to act actively,” he said.

Additionally, Zelenskyy received a report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi regarding the frontlines and the Kursk operation.

"The Commander-in-Chief – a report on the front and the Kursk operation. It is very important that every day brings us new results, and these results should be the losses of the enemy, Russia's losses," the President stated.

Russia's war against Ukraine

It should be noted that Zelenskyy's conversation with Budanov took place after the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported that Russia plans to mobilize over 126,000 soldiers from a "special contingent" in 2025. This group consists of individuals with debts, those in prison, and others with various issues.

Ivan Tymochko, head of the Reserve Council of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, said in a commentary to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel that Russian prisoners are not particularly considered as regular forces capable of conducting conventional military operations. They serve as frontline soldiers tasked with drawing fire, carrying ammunition, and providing cover for trained Russian troops.

The Center for Countering Disinformation believes Russia has no plans to end the war against Ukraine and is preparing to fight throughout 2025.
