President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with US President Donald Trump during a G7 meeting, according to Zelenskyy's X.

On February 24, the third anniversary of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, a G7 meeting was held online, as many leaders were visiting Kyiv.

"It was a productive meeting, with principled words from the majority by most of our partners. We strongly count on the unity of the world - Europe, America, all parts of the world and nations who want to live in peace, based on predictable rules and international law," the President stated.

Zelenskyy noted that during the meeting, he was able to speak with President Trump.

"As for Donald Trump... We just had a conversation. It was a very good discussion within the framework of the G7 meeting, led by Canada," Zelenskyy said to journalists.

He emphasized that he hopes the United States will continue its support for Ukraine.

Trump's statements

Earlier, Trump accused Europe of spending less on aid to Ukraine than the United States. US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, also stated that he does not see Europe at the negotiating table regarding Ukraine. This sparked outrage and criticism among EU countries.

At the same time, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed to present a unified message on Ukraine during their meeting with President Trump this week.
