Ukraine is increasing its level of protection against Russian drones and missiles every day. There are agreements on new defense contracts, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
New air defense contracts
Following a meeting on additional protective measures with ministers and the military leadership on additional measures, Zelenskyy said he had received important reports.
"We are increasing our level of protection every day. This includes turrets and special teams to shoot down Shaheds. We expect manufacturers to move quickly with interceptors," the president said.
He noted that the corresponding tasks have been set, and necessary funding has been allocated.
"We are preparing new contracts for air defense systems and air defense missiles. For now, there are no public details, but there could be some good developments. It is important for us that the decisions have been made," he said.
Zelenskyy also appealed to partners for anti-ballistic missiles.
"We need more anti-ballistic capabilities to protect infrastructure — this is the main challenge right now. Leaders see what is happening and that Russia is definitely not going to move from escalation to negotiations," he said.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Ukrainian pilots will soon begin training on French Rafale fighter jets, Zelenskyy said. France is also preparing a new defense aid package for Ukraine.
