Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Brussels, during which the head of the Polish government assured him of unwavering support for Ukraine, according to Radio Svoboda.
During the meeting in Brussels on the sidelines of the European Council summit, Tusk assured that Ukraine would not be left alone to face Russian aggression and that anything that could help Moscow in this war is unacceptable for Europe.
In particular, the Polish side emphasized that there are no grounds for easing sanctions against Russia or allowing the financing of its war machine.
The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude for political and military-technical support, separately mentioning non-public steps.
The Ukrainian president emphasized that what they had done should sometimes remain between the two of them. However, he expressed gratitude, noting that it was very difficult to defend the country and its capital from massive attacks. He added that they were also grateful for the 20mm ammunition and other assistance.
The Prime Minister of Poland, in turn, assured the steadfastness of further cooperation.
Tusk stated that Ukraine, its people, and the Ukrainian president personally were not alone, adding that they could count on his personal support, as well as on Poland and the EU.
President Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will not capitulate in light of the recent actions and statements of US President Donald Trump.
At the same time, against the backdrop of diplomatic discussions, it became known that European leaders plan to urge the Ukrainian president to soften his public criticism of US leader Donald Trump.
