The attack of Russian drones on Poland and the deployment of Russian soldiers to Crimea ("little green men") are similar in psychological terms, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Zelenskyy noted that through its attack on Poland, Russia wanted to see how far NATO countries were ready to go both politically and physically.

He added that Russia may have struck Poland to discourage partners from providing Ukraine with air defense systems ahead of winter, since such attacks could be repeated. This, he said, is very typical of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"The scariest thing is that this attack is psychologically similar to Crimea. Today, it’s a technological war, no need for green men in green uniforms. Today it’s a different war. Today, the same role on Polish territory was played by Russian-made drones," the President pointed out.

Drone attack on Poland

On the night of September 10, Poland came under a drone attack. Russia launched strike drones at the NATO country.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that 19 Russian drones entered the country’s airspace, most of them from Belarus.

Against this backdrop, Ukraine offered Poland assistance in training to counter Russian drones, including Shaheds.

According to Bild, during the attack on Poland, F-35 fighter jets used missiles costing 400,000 euros each to destroy the drones.
