Zelenskyy discusses battlefield situation with President of Finland
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö. Among other topics, they discussed the situation on the Ukrainian battlefield, according to the statement of the head of the state.
"He thanked Finland for the 19th package of defense assistance and their effective participation in the implementation of the peace formula, especially the point regarding radiation and nuclear safety," Zelenskyy stated. He also mentioned the continuation of the Grain from Ukraine initiative this year.
The leaders of the two countries also discussed security challenges in the Middle East and the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Finnish assistance to Ukraine
Finland has been providing Ukraine with both defense and humanitarian assistance since the beginning of Russia's full-scale military aggression.
The Finnish government recently gave instructions to develop a plan for Finland's participation in Ukraine's recovery.
It has also been reported that the Finnish government is preparing another package of defense assistance for Ukraine, marking the 19th such package.
