The world must punish Russia for its horrific strikes, one of which today targeted Yarova in the Donetsk region. So far, the pressure on the aggressor has been insufficient, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s evening address.

He noted that during the attack on Yarova, the Russian forces knew exactly where they were striking and could clearly see that the strike was aimed at civilians — ordinary pensioners receiving their pensions. As of now, 24 people have been reported dead and 19 wounded.

The head of state reminded that this is just one of many strikes with which the Russian forces attack peaceful Ukrainians.

"The Russians continue to kill, and it is horrifying that there is not a strong enough response from global actors. This is exactly what Putin (the Russian President Vladimir Putin) interprets as permission to keep fighting — if there is no strong pressure, if there are not sufficiently forceful actions in response. The Russian economy, the Russian state, must feel pain every time they kill, every time they carry out such strikes," Zelenskyy emphasized.

He pointed out that without new sanctions, there will be no progress in diplomacy or attempts to end the war. And there has been no significant increase in pressure on the Russian military machine for far too long.

Strike on Yarova

Earlier today, September 9, Russian troops attacked the village of Yarova in the Donetsk region, using an aerial bomb.

The enemy targeted a location where pensions were being distributed to elderly residents. The number of dead and wounded continues to rise.

All the details of the tragedy can be found in the RBC-Ukraine material.
