Russian attacks on Ukraine on Tuesday, September 1, are making Ukrainian children participants in the war, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"The Russians are just completely f****** up. September 1, children. Even among any enemies, there is an understanding that children are children. But the Russians are making children participants in the war," he said.

The president noted that the Russians would continue doing this until they were put in their place.

The Ukrainian president emphasized the weak response of international partners to Russian attacks.

"For the past two weeks, the whole world, Europe and the world that are helping us, have been on vacation. And it leaves a very unpleasant aftertaste. I cannot help but share it... this feeling, you know... of 'diplomacy according to schedule.' In other words, when it's vacation, it's vacation," Zelenskyy said.

Russian forces have been attacking Kyiv and the region with drones and missiles since overnight, hitting residential buildings and infrastructure facilities.

In the morning, it became known that the Russian attack on Kyiv damaged five districts at once — Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Solomianskyi.

The highest number of casualties was recorded in the Darnytskyi district. Seven people were killed there. In the Solomianskyi district, a drone struck a residential building and partially destroyed it.

Odesa and the region also came under Russian attack. Russian forces attempted to strike energy infrastructure while simultaneously attacking the Sumy, Dnipro, and other regions of Ukraine.
