Ukraine has not yet received an official invitation to participate in the G20 summit, which will take place next month, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Although Zelenskyy has not yet received an official invitation from the US, there have been certain signals from Washington regarding his possible participation in the event.

The head of state clarified that during contacts with various negotiators, the issue of a possible invitation for Ukraine by US President Donald Trump was raised. There was also discussion of a potential initiative by the American leader to end the war.

Zelenskyy emphasized that President Trump might invite Ukraine to the G20 summit and possibly put forward an initiative aimed at ending the war. He added that Ukraine would, of course, support the initiative if Trump officially invited them.

Importantly, in September, the US invited Russian leader Putin to the December G20 summit in Miami, where he could potentially meet with US President Donald Trump.

It was also reported that the head of the Kremlin declined Zelenskyy’s proposal to hold negotiations on ending the war on the sidelines of the G20 summit in the US.

Trump, for his part, stated that he did not know whether Putin would agree to a trilateral meeting with Zelenskyy in Miami.

On October 31, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reported that Washington might invite Zelenskyy to the G20 leaders' summit in December if it would contribute to achieving positive results. And on November 1, Trump did not rule out the possibility of inviting the Ukrainian president to the G20 summit in Miami.

The day before, Zelenskyy called on Putin to hold a meeting in Türkiye.

Interestingly, the Kremlin previously stated that the Russian leader might answer a call from the Ukrainian leader.
